Dr. Gladys A. David is a former attorney, entrepreneur, author, and advocate who founded Purpose Beyond Diagnosis from a deeply personal place. As a mother to a neurodivergent son, she faced overwhelming challenges navigating systems that offered limited support and narrow expectations. She refused to accept the status quo — and because of that determination, her son is now a thriving young man. Her lived experience is the heartbeat of this organization.

Purpose Beyond Diagnosis began long before it had a name. For more than 15 years, the vision grew quietly in her heart. The spark that brought it to life came during a conversation following a successful real estate transaction with another parent of a neurodivergent child. In that moment, she realized her story didn’t need to be shared one-to-one — it needed to be shared one-to-many. Families deserved a space where experts, lived experiences, and real conversations could come together.

Drawing from her professional expertise, entrepreneurial journey, and personal path as a mother, Dr. David created a platform designed to help families move from uncertainty to confidence and from challenges to opportunities.
